DNA for David French
(see Group 4) [2]
There is no known connection yet of the other 3 families that match DNA records.
According
to "The Shively Newsletter," there were two Margaret Shivelys who married two David Frenches.
One was the daughter of Jacob Shively and she married in Jefferson Co., KY on
20 Dec. 1790, and the other Margaret was the daughter of Christian Shively and
married a David French from Ohio Co., KY [6]. A later
article quotes two researchers as saying that the Margaret Shively who married
David French was the daughter of Christian Shively of Lancaster Co., PA. They
feel that the marriage record was incorrect and that Margaret and David French
lived in Ohio Co., KY. after their marriage [6].
David
French was thought to be a brother of George Washington French who m. Elizabeth
Sturman French, FFA Chart #31
of KY [2]. Evidence proves this incorrect. There is also a Shively family in FFA Chart #10
of TN. No known connection.
