Nov 1865. Nancy was b. 8 Oct 1819, d. 24 Jan 1901.

7.2* Timothy Dwight French, b. 22 Jan 1818 in East Bloomfield, Ontario Co., NY. Timothy is listed in the 1860 census of East Bloomfield, Ontario Co., NY as age 42, living with his wife Sarah, age 39, and their children Sarah (14), Francis (10), Orion (5), and Florence (1). In the 1870 census they live in the same place, but with 2 additional children: Edgar L. (9), and Walter E. (5).

On Saturday morning last, John Beals French, one of East Bloomfield's early settlers was found sleeping the last sleep in the bed where he had lain down in his usual health only a few hours before. Mr. French has been living for some months with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Chapin, and during the past few weeks has suffered several shocks which probably led to his sudden death. Mr. French had reached the advanced age of eighty-one years and fourteen days. He was born in this town and has been an active and successful farmer in this vicinity, having retired but a short time ago on the farm at Holcomb recently purchased by E. E. Rigney. Mr. French became an ardent Republican at the founding of the party and was always a zealous advocate of its faith. At one time he was a delegate to a state convention at Saratoga and he always manifested a deep interest in local government. Mr. French was for several years a trustee of the Congregational church of East Bloomfield. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Chapin, of this town, and Mrs. Wells Parmele of Victor, and one brother, Hamilton French of Victor, at present eighty-six years of age. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of the daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Charles Chapin. Rev. W. D. Robinson conducted the service. Music was rendered by members of the Congregational choir. Interment was made in East Bloomfield cemetery. The pall bearers were John S. Hamlin, Cholett Collins, Ashman B. Gause and William Mead.

Arthur Burton French was born 30 Nov. 1849 in MI, and died 26 Aug. 1895 in Kasota, MN.  He married Julia Gorine Skarnes, daughter of Jens Olsen Skarnes and Anna Marie Gudbrandsdatter, on 30 Aug. 1870 in St. Peter, Le Sueur Co., MN.  She was born in Oct. 1852 in Norway, and died in 1928 in Ashmere, WA.  All their children were born in MN.

A profile in History of the Minnesota Valley by Rev. Edward D. Neill, Minneapolis, 1882, states: Hon. A. B. French is a Democrat and Representative from the Nineteenth District.  He was born in Michigan forty-five years ago and came to Minnesota in 1855, is married, and has resided in Le Sueur County for thirty-nine years.  His post-office is St. Peter, and for the past twenty-three years he has always held some township office, principally that of Justice of the Peace.  In 1894 he was elected to the Legislature, and, in the session of 1895, made a record for careful and prudent attention to his duties as a member of that body [16].

He is listed in the 1850 census of Addison, Addison Co., VT, age 53, with his wife Mary or Polly (perhaps Champion), age 47, and 3 members of the family with the surname French. They are: George (24), Harriet (21), Mary (16), and Emily (11). Also living with them is George Champion, age 15. Wheeler was a farmer. In the 1860 census, the city is the same, but children George, Mary, and Harriet are no longer living at home. In 1870 the city is the same and no children are living at home. Wheeler d. 13 Feb 1875 in West Addison.

From the History of the Town of Addison, VT [51]: Wheeler French located in Addison in 1833, and his father, Nathaniel, was one of the early settlers in New Haven. George, son of Wheeler, now resides here, one of the ex-representatives of the town in the General Assembly.

Pamelia was an administrator of the Trumbull Congregational Church in 1839, on 1 Jan 1843, and on 20 Nov 1849. She d. 11 Aug 1880 at age 85y and 3m in Easton, and in buried at the Long Hill Burying-ground in Trumbull [52]. She could be NelsonÕs daughter, but more research is needed.

In 1850 when John was 34, he worked as a house carpenter and lived in Milwaukee, WI [42]. By 1860 they had left Wisconsin and by 1870 they were living in Santa Clara, Santa Clara Co., CA [42]. John d. 15 Sep 1861 and is buried at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in Santa Clara, CA [45].
