Children of Thomas and Mary (Button) French, 1.1

The first 6 children were daughters. Only 2 males survived to have French heirs.

2.1 Mary French, b. ca. 1640 in Charlestown, MA, d. 2 Sep 1677. She m. John Everts, Jr. on 14 Sep 1665. John was born in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT on 29 Feb 1639/40, d. 28 Dec 1692 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, at 52 years of age. They had children Mary Everts, b. 12 Aug 1666 and John Everts, b. 16 Sep 1668. Mary died when her son was only 9 years old.

2.2 Hannah French, b. ca. 1642 in Charlestown, Suffolk Co., MA.

2.3 Mercy French, b. ca. 1644 in either Charlestown, MA, or Guilford, CT.

2.4 Elizabeth French, b. 1646 in Guilford, CT, m. 11 Nov 1668 in New London to Eleazer Isbell or Isbel. He was b. ca. 1640 in Salem, Manchester Co., MA and he d. 1677/78 in Killingworth, CT.

2.5 Deliverance French, b. ca. 1648 in Guilford, CT, m. 21 Dec 1669 to Edward Parks.

2.6 Sarah French, b. 25 Aug 1650 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, d. 19 May 1717 in probably Killingworth, CT, at 66 years of age. She married twice. She m1. Nathaniel Parmelee in Guilford, New Haven, CT, 24 Oct 1668. Nathaniel was born in Guilford, New Haven, CT, 1645. Nathaniel died 1676 in the Indian War, at 31 years of age. Their 4 children were Sarah Parmelee, Nathaniel Parmelee, Mary Parmelee, and Marcy Parmelee who was born ca. 1676 in Killingworth, CT, right before her first husband died. Sarah m2. Nathaniel Hayden 16 Jan 1677/78. Nathaniel was born in Killingworth, CT.

2.7* John French, b. 21 Jul 1652 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, d. 28 Dec 1727 in East Guilford, New Haven, CT, at 75 years of age. He married twice. He m1. Mary Sheather in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, on 31 Jul 1678. Mary was born in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, on 14 Mar 1653/54, the dau. of John Sheather. Mary d. 22 Jan1706/07 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, at 52 years of age. John m2. Abigail Cole Stevens in 1724.  Abigail died in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, as the widow of John.. No children by the second marriage.

2.8 Martha French, b. 6 Aug 1654 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, m. John Dudley on 11 Feb 1673 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT [13]. Martha and John Dudley inherited 20 acres of land from her father Thomas French just before his death in 1673. Martha d. in 1690 and John Dudley d. also in 1690 [18]. John Dudley had been pressed on board a British man-of-war ship in London. He escaped and came to Boston and then Guilford in 1673.

2.9 Thomas French, Jr., b. 12 Jun 1656 in Guilford, New Haven, CT, d. 28 Feb 1659 in Guilford, New Haven, CT, at 2 ½ years of age.

2.10* Ebenezer French, b. 3 Apr 1658 in Guilford, New Haven, CT, d. 3 May 1736 in Guilford, New Haven, CT, at 78 years of age. He m. Susanna Blatchley or Blachley [2] in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, on 8 Oct 1684. Susanna was born in Branford, CT, in 1667 and d. 19 Jan 1727/28 in Guilford, New Haven, CT, at 60 years of age.

2.11 Rebecca French, b. 10 Jan 1659/60 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, d. 10 Oct 1660 in Guilford, New Haven, CT, at less than one year of age. Her mother may have died with the delivery of this child.

2.12* Samuel French, b. 21 Aug 1667 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT. Ref. [2] says this Samuel French died young, but further research shows this is in error. Ref. [33] says this is his line, and that Samuel m. ca. 1693 to Abigail Hubbell, daughter of Richard Hubbell (b. ca 1627, d. 23 Oct 1699) and Elizabeth Gaylord (b. 4 Oct 1647, d. 4 Jan 1688). Abigail was b. ca. 1672 in Stratford, CT and d. after 1741. Samuel d. 23 Dec 1732 in Stratford, CT, age 65, according to the Stratfield Burying-place records in ŇA History of the Old Town of Stratford and the city of Bridgeport by Samuel Orcutt. He was a farmer and carpenter. This Samuel does not connect to FFA Chart #11.

2.13 Abigail French, b. 2 Mar 1669 in Guilford, CT.
