Second Generation

Children of SamuelÕs Grandfather, 1.1

2.1* Samuel ElburnÕs Father.

It is highly suspected that Samuel was the son of Reuben and Hannah Elburn. Hannah appears in the 1790 census of Middle District, Langford Bay, Kent, Maryland, p. 83, a widow. Reuben may have died during the Revolutionary War, pre-1784. Reuben probably had a brother named William Elburn Jr., and the father of both of them may have been William Elburn Sr. This data is being researched; if you have documental evidence, please email it to me at marafrench@mindspring.com.

According to the Maryland State Archives, Maryland Indexes (Assessment of 1783, Index) regarding land taxes paid in Kent County, 1783, MSA S 1437, Reuben Elburn is listed in the 1st District, Kent County, p. 5, MSA S 1161-7-1  1/4/5/50.
