Peter "Pete" E. French, published in The Herald (Everett) on 15 Feb 2008 -- on February 5, 2008 the world lost a great man by the name of Peter "Pete" E. French. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Pete never went far from his hometown. Sadly, at the age of 69, Pete lost his hard fought battle with cancer.

Pete was a very hard working, stubborn man and all who knew him loved and cared for him very much. He was a private man who loved his family, his work, his friends and his horses. Pete has three sons; Eugene French, of Fort Worth, Texas; Eric French, of Birmingham, Alabama, and Elliott French, of Hoquiam, Washington; and six grandchildren.

Pete worked very hard, for many years, as a diesel mechanic working in the marine maintenance field. Spending many of those years working for Stewarts Marine in Seattle. Pete was a very knowledgeable man who was respected by many people for the accomplishments that he made in his career.

In his off hours Pete was an avid horseback rider. He spent many hours after work, as well as many weekends, taking care of and riding his horse. For years he traveled around the area for many different trail rides. He was well known by the horse rider's circle of people, many of whom cared deeply for him.

I know there is much more that could be said about this great man but there is not enough time to say it all. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Remember the happy times, smile in honor of his memory and know he will never be forgotten.

REST IN PEACE DAD you deserve it.
