9.1* William Milton Elben, b. 5 Feb 1907 in Chapel, Talbot Co., MD, d. 19-22 May 2000 in Annapolis, Anne Arundel Co., MD, at age 93. He m. Marie Eunice Edeler who was b. 1910. Marie Edeler Elben was b. 1910 in Maryland. They had daughter Barbarra L. and son John C. At one time he lived at Ainview Ave., Edgewater, MD.

He lived with his parents in the 1910 census of Chapel, Talbot Co., MD; also living in this census was his brother James and his cousin, Benjiman H. Elben, age 18.

He lived with his parents in the 1920 census of Nottingham, Prince Georges Co., MD, and states that both parents were born in Maryland.

In the 1930 census of Anne Arundel Co., MD, William was living with his parents and siblings.

William M. Elben age 33, b. 1907, and Marie Edeler, age 30, b. 1910, who lived in Anne Arundel Co., MD in the 1940 census, and living with their son John C. Elben, age 1 and their daughter Barbara L. 9.3* Eugene John Elben, b. 24 Feb 1911 in MD, d. 10 Sep 1959 and is buried at the Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery in West River, Anne Arundel Co., MD. He m. Pearle Hardy, also called Luella Pearle, b. 11 May 1895, d. 23 Jun 1955 in WDC. They divorced soon after their daughter Frances Elben was born in 1913. Pearle lived most of her life with her sister Leona and her mother Rosa Hardy. Eugene was a farmer working along with his father.

He lived with his parents in the 1920 census of Nottingham, Prince Georges Co., MD, and states that both parents were born in Maryland.

In the 1930 census of Anne Arundel Co., MD, Eugene was living with his parents and siblings.

In the 1940 census of Anne Arundel, he was living with his parents.

Eugene m. Pearle Hardy, also called Luella Pearle. Pearle S. Hardy was b. 11 May 1897, d. 23 Jun 1955. Eugene and Pearle divorced soon after their daughter Frances V. Elben was born on 9 Apr 1913. Then Pearle returned to Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa to live with her parents, Eugene and Rosa Hardy, and her sisters Leona, Lucelle, Charlote, and her brother Roy, with her daughter Francis Elben. Later, Frances m. Millard Boteler and lived in WDC, and died on 9 Feb 2001 at age 87. Eugene returned to Nottingham, Prince GeorgeÕs Co., MD, to live with his parents and siblings and is found with them in the 1920 census.

9.4 Stewart Elwood Elben, b. 27 Apr 1913 in MD. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He d. 30 Apr 2002 at age 89 in Lothian, Anne Arundel Co., MD, and is buried at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD, in an unincorporated community in Prince GeorgeÕs Co. He lived at 188 Boones Dr., Lothian, MD. In 1990 he lived at 8003 SE D Arcy Rd., Temple Hills, MD. He had one child. He m. Florence Elizabeth, as she is also listed in the same cemetery, born 12 Feb 1925, died 1 Jan 2003. They are buried together in Section C B3, Row 8, Site 4. No known heirs.

The Annapolis Capital newspaper of 22 Apr 1989 contains a notice to creditors to unknown heirs to all persons in the estate of Leonard Elben, signed by his brother Stewart. He operated a sawmill and was a carpenter. No known heirs.

Fletcher m2. Evelyn Lee Cronshaw on 14 Jul 1945. She was b. 24 Apr 1920, d. 13 Jan 2006 in Denton, Caroline Co., MD. She was the dau. of James and Rosa Cronshaw.

Henrietta W. Elben

DENTON — Henrietta W. Elben of Denton died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Ruxton Health in Denton. She was 93.

Born in Trappe, Mrs. Elben was the daughter of the late Ascom Wheatley and Mary Ida Abey Wheatley. She was a 1932 graduate of Caroline High School. In 1942, she moved to Denton from Tuckahoe Neck. She became a button cutter at the Denton Button Factory, retiring in the mid-1970s.

Mrs. Elben is survived by one son, T. Fleetwood Elben of Denton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William Cooper Elben; and one grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Moore Funeral Home PA in Denton, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Greenmount Cemetery in Hillsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
