History and Background

Researcher Peter C. Nutt reports in 1998 Òno French baptisms 1590-1635Ó. He checked only the baptisms at first to see if any French lived in that particular parish, and if none existed, the marriage and burial records were not checked. MarkÕs Hall is just north of Coggeshall. This page is added here only because of the proximity to Coggeshall. And, I was there in June 2010 and took several photos which someone may enjoy. All these photos were taken from pictures hanging inside the VisitorÕs Center, Marks Hall, Coggeshall, Essex CO6 1TG. You may become a member of Marks Hall and donate to the Thomas Philips Price Trust Account.

Marks Hall Description

Marks Hall covers some 2,300 acres and is owned by the Thomas Philips Price Trust. Since the establishment of the Trust in 1971, great progress has been made in restoring this historic Estate, which had become much neglected after the Second World War. Visitors may enjoy the Gardens and Arboretum. Please visit their website at http://www.markshall.org.uk, or email enquiries@markshall.org.uk.
