1.1* William French, b. ca. 1768 in Taunton, MA, m. Bethia Porter [5] in Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT.

Second Generation

Children of William and Bethia (Porter) French, 1.1

2.1 Sibel (or Sybel or Sybil) Martha French, b. 28 Jan 1796 in Bristol, Norfolk Co., MA [5] [4], m. William Palmer Judd ca. 1818, d. between 1860 and 1870. All Sybil JuddÕs children were born in Norfolk Co., CT: Mary (1818), Caroline (1820), Catherine (1822), Henry (1824), Walter (1826), Edwin (1828), James (1832), Frederick (1834), Frances Arabella (1837), Margaret Orianna (1838), Frank H. (1844). In 1850 Henry Judd was living in Prospect, New Haven Co., CT.

2.2 Lephia (or Lepha) French, m. Spencer Pease [1], intention of marriage 20 Dec 1840 in Washington, MA. On the death certificate for Lephia Pease it lists her parents as William French and Bethia (or Bethiah) Porter, both born in Taunton, MA [1].

[4] Willard French, Bill7009@aol.com. My Great Great Grandfather was Benoni French born in Taunton Mass. in 1779. The bible meaning of the name Benoni mentions "the son of my sorrow". My Great Grandfather was Allen French and Grandfather was Charles Levi French. I hope that this information helps with your family tree. We can only go back to Benoni with our family tree, his father might have been James French. I live in Watertown CT and also in Misquamicut Beach, (Westerly R.I.).
